PHILADELPHIA, PA, April 25, 2007 -- Today Penn Engineering Dean Eduardo Glandt honored Priyanka Agarwal, Alexander Mittal, Calvin Peng, and Arjun Srinivas for their research on the Innlay and IonArmour technologies. The team's winning project on functionalizing polymer surfaces with nanoparticles and microparticles had been selected by the Materials Science department for entry in the 2007 Penn Engineering Design Competition. The team had also won accolades on Friday from the Materials Science department for having completed the most outstanding thesis work in the department.
Each year, the Penn Engineering Alumni Society sponsors the competition for undergraduate engineering seniors at Penn Engineering. This competition assembles together the winning senior design project teams from each of Penn's engineering majors. Each of these design teams presents their accomplishments to a panel of "real world" judges who collectively represent a diverse set of technology disciplines.
